What is Cape Coral Known For?

Cape Coral is home to its own distillery. Wicked Dolphin uses 100% Florida sugar and local ingredients. You can sample its award-winning spirits and schedule a tour of the distillery and barrel room and see how the drinks are made. Tours are available Friday nights, Saturdays, Thursdays and Tuesdays, with a reservation. Children are allowed to attend if they are accompanied by an adult.

Escape the heat with the family at Sun Splash Family Waterpark. There are 14 acres of water slides, a lazy river, kid park, and other fun activities the whole family can enjoy. It’s also the largest waterpark between here and Tampa. The park is open from March to September and locals look forward to it reopening each year. The secret is out. Sun Splash Family Waterpark is one of the most fun things to do in Cape Coral.

Visit the Four Mile Cove Ecological Preserve and enjoy some time in the great outdoors. There is a boardwalk that meanders through a marsh to the Caloosahatchee River. There are seasonal kayak rentals, picnic areas, a veterans’ memorial area and two observation piers. Don’t forget to bring bug spray and sunscreen

If you’re looking for a beach to go to, try the Cape Coral Yacht Club Community Park. It’s a staple in the community and one of Cape Coral’s original attractions. The 70-year-old Yacht Club has a beach area along the Caloosahatchee, which offers white sand and plenty of space to relax and enjoy yourself. There is also a swimming pool and fishing dock. The Yacht Club also features festivals throughout the year.

The Tom Allen Memorial Butterfly Garden is a serene escape from the stresses of everyday life. Watch native butterflies in their natural habitat. In the memorial garden, they’re allowed to grow up before they’re released into the wild. It’s a beautiful sight to see. Tours at 10:30 a.m. are free on Mondays, Fridays and Saturdays.

The Southwest Florida Military Museum & Library is great on a rainy day. Learn about military history at the largest military museum in Southwest Florida. You’ll find papers and books on all American wars, important events and conflicts. There are also a variety of artifacts to look at.

The Cape Coral Historical Museum is another rainy day option. Enjoy the historic rose garden, exhibits and the history of Cape Coral’s development throughout the years. Guided tours will show visitors everything from how the early Calusa Indians lived to how the Rosen brothers developed Cape Coral and turned it into what it is today.

Cape Harbour and Tarpon Point Marina are some of the most desirable neighborhoods in Cape Coral. They feature high-rise and mid-rise condos, single-family homes, estate homes and coach home condos. There are local shops, waterfront restaurants and marinas to enjoy. They’re great for date nights or special dinners to celebrate a milestone. The waterfront setting just adds a little something special.

You can spend the whole day at Gator Mike’s Family Fun Park and never get bored. There are go karts, mini golf, an arcade and batting cages. It’s perfect for parties and group outings.
